Pierrefonds Comprehensive High School-Outdoor Classroom
As the spring season approached, students from Pierrefonds Comprehensive High School decided to take matters into their own hands and design an outdoor, environmentally-conscious classroom. Tired of the boring cement walls, the group worked together to have a positive impact on their school!
The Green Team was responsible for this eco-initiative and took on the task of creating, planning and building the outdoor classroom. After settling on a design, students hit the wood shop in order to start bringing their ideas to life. This included making several benches for seating, a large gardening area and anything else the students required to help them learn in nature. Of course, they were also responsible for all of the maintenance and garden upkeep once the project was finished.
The Outdoor Classroom imitative was a wonderful occasion for students to bring a project into action while also considering the environment! Students absolutely learned more about hard-work, organization and teamwork while also building self-confidence with a project they can be proud of!
