John Rennie High School-Intergenerational Connections

INTERGENERATIONAL CONNECTIONS was a project involving four teams: cycle-2 students from John Rennie High School, Aid For Seniors Pointe Claire, Stewart Hall Cultural Center and the Lester B. Pearson School Board. Throughout several meetings, activities and games (such as trivias) planned by students, they interacted with elders, developing meaningful relationships.

The goal of this project was to propel benevolence among students. Also, while discussing their teenage experiences, students discovered they felt very much the same to elders on several issues of their lives. In the end, Intergenerational Connections gave senior citizens the opportunity to improve community’s perception of youth and showed students how much wisdom comes with age.
