École secondaire Dorval-Jean-XXIII-Film Festival and Competition
This past April, students of Dorval-Jean XXII took part in a school-wide video competition where they won first place! Looking to defend their title this year, students took it upon themselves to completely organize their own film festival. The contest was promoted to all of the other participating schools in the area.
When planning the competition, it was imperative that the students establish a clear set of rules which everyone can follow! Some of the event preparation required students to create a promotional poster, choose a venue, select schools to invite and elect judges for the competition. Of course, this is all in addition to creating their own video as well! At the end of the semester, all of the participating schools had a chance to show their videos in the auditorium for the rest of the students.
The Video Festival Contest was a huge achievement for the students of Dorval-Jean XXIII as they were able to bring back a beloved competition from last year. In the process, they learned about event planning and organizing an arts initiative for other students all on their own!
