Collège Saint-Louis-Human Rights Week and The Writing Marathon
Twenty students of the Amnesty Committee organized and conducted the first Human Rights Week. They decided to promote the mission and values of some remarkable Human Rights personalities, so they hosted kiosks featuring the human rights defender or a prisoner of conscience.
This event was an incredible opportunity for the student community to become more knowledgeable about human rights and to realize that respect for human rights varies across governments and countries.
Then they visited the Ecomuseum Zoo, where they witnessed the impact of water on wildlife.
The week ended with a writing marathon for Amnesty International’s “Écrire, ça libère” campaign. During this day, students changed the atmosphere of the college, setting dim lights and hundreds of candles. They participated in the writing marathon with the objective of writing 2000 messages of hope.
